We hold street events, we meet for a cuppa and we like to celebrate living on our street. Whether you’re new to our area, a visitor or simply curious about Harcourt Road, our website will tell you a bit more about our street and what we do.
We love Harcourt Road and we hope you do too!
Three fab reasons for living on Harcourt Road:
1. It’s green, green, green
You’d hardly guess that Harcourt Road is at the heart of the Steel City. We’re nestled between three major parks. We back on to the beautiful Crookes Valley Park with its serene lake, cherry blossom in spring and children’s playground for the tots. Next door is Weston Park where we picnic and listen to bands in the Victorian bandstand in summer or head up to the award-winning Weston Park Museum in winter. Footballers and young climbers can head across the road to The Ponderosa.
2. It’s handy
It’s 10 minutes walk to Broomhill in one direction, 20 minutes walk to West Street in the other direction. The number 95 bus runs from the bottom of the road and the Supertram is round the corner too. There’s a row of shops including Beanies wholefoods, Crookes Valley Pharmacy and Middletons hardware on our doorstep.
3. It’s community
They say that Sheffield is the biggest village in the UK, and Harcourt Road is no exception. We’re a diverse group of people from all over the world. We have annual street parties featuring activities like live music from an impromptu band of neighbours, DJ and decks, home-cooked neighbours’ buffet and street table tennis to boot. Our spring clean and BBQ, bonfire night fireworks, book group and Christmas carol evening are regular features in the calendar.
